Bulk Coating

Efficient Finishing for Small Parts

IMG_3763.heic

Bulk coating is an economical way to apply decorative and protective finishes to small parts—ideal for high-volume production. At P&M Industrial Finishing, we offer several proven methods to ensure consistent coverage and durability.

Cleaning Processes

Japanning / Tumble Coating / Barrel Enameling

Parts are coated in a rotating barrel with multiple light coats and baked between applications. This method delivers glossy, smooth outer finishes—perfect for small decorative components.

Hot Barrel Coating

Similar to tumble coating, but parts are baked as paint is applied. This process reaches many recessed areas, though it results in a more semi-gloss, textured finish.

Dip/Spin Coating

Parts are dipped in paint and spun to remove excess before baking. Commonly used for fasteners, springs, and other automotive components. A zinc phosphate pretreatment is often recommended for best results.
